When Brittany mentioned she wanted a waterfall for their session, I was ALL IN. We combined that vision with fall foliage and found the perfect location for their Adventure Engagement Session: Cloudland Canyon State Park in Georgia. Cloudland Canyon had it all: the views, the trees, and a heck of a showstopper for a waterfall.
These Adventure Sessions are just that: an adventure. Brittany and Kris had to put in some hard work for their photos. They hiked down some slippery stairs (and then back up) in their formal wear. At the beginning of the trail, a fellow hiker saw us beginning our descent to Hemlock Falls. He saw us loaded down with our hiking gear, photography gear, and carrying the rest of the formal wear and said to us with wide eyes, “Y’all going down like that?” Kris quickly replied, “Yes sir!” He said, “Y’all are not going to make it in that.” Our response, “We did it yesterday…we will make it.” Clearly this guy did not know our determination….or that we had done the hike the day before so we felt prepared for what would lie ahead of us.
When we reached the falls…I was so excited, I could barely contain myself. Brittany and Kris completely knocked it out of the park. The mist from the waterfall was so loud and powerful that they ended up getting soaking wet. And let me tell you, that water was freezing cold…but in the end, the images were SO WORTH IT. We rewarded ourselves all weekend with freaking fantastic food and beverages. And of course, the best of company.
Rad!
