After months of anticipation of Shannon and Mike’s Big Bend Elopement, it was beyond exciting to watch them become Mr. & Mrs. Wait in front of their closest friends and family members. The Window in the Chisos Basin mountains was the perfect iconic backdrop.
The ladies spent their day getting their hair and makeup done by Glam on Demand New Braunfels in the lodges in the Chisos Basin. Mike continued to let Shannon know that he was thinking about her throughout the day by sending her little surprises. To start, as Shannon was getting her hair done, her bridesmaids decided to get her wedding dress out of the garment bag and hang it in the door way. As they did, they found a stuffed Chucky doll tucked away in the bag. As they handed it to Shannon, she bursted into laughter. You see, a few weeks before, Shannon and Mike had, “won” this Chucky doll out of a claw machine…and Shannon was less than thrilled. Mike decided to scare Shannon with it by putting it on her night stand so when she woke up, it was the first thing she saw. And since then, they had been taking turns hiding it to scare each other. So Chucky doll made his appearance, numerous times throughout the day. Since I, myself, spend so much of my time scheming on ways to scare my own husband, I truly felt bonded with them in this moment.
After Shannon and Mike’s sweet and intimate ceremony, we drove the Ross Maxwell Scenic Drive and stopped for portraits along the way. We ended the night with a reception dinner at The Starlight Theater and smoke bomb portraits. It was such a perfect way to conclude the day.
