The anticipation of Tomi and Rob’s Puerto Vallarta Destination Wedding certainly did not disappoint. Tomi and I had been exchanging text messages of excitement for monthssss…and finally, the wedding weekend was here.
I will start by saying that if you have not been to Puerto Vallarta, you need to put it on your list. Hyatt Ziva Puerto Vallarta Resort is situated on a private beach and encircled by the Sierra Madre mountains with lush rainforest. Side note: this resort has a turtle sanctuary on the property where they release baby sea turtles after they hatch. Three nights in a row, we were able to experience the release at sunset. Let’s just say squeeeeeeeee! BABY SEA TURTLES.
Tomi and Rob hosted an outdoor adventure day for their family and friends. The adventure started with a speed boat ride to a private beach and then a ride on 4x4s into the mountains. Once we arrived in the mountains, everyone jumped onto mules that carried us to the peak of the mountain. And that’s where the zip lining adventure began. Not only did we find ourselves zip lining up side down in the middle of the rainforest (and right side up, and with a partner, through the water, etc.), but we also rappelled down water falls, crossed suspension bridges, and so much more. The adventure was such a thrill and completely bonded everyone. While cameras were not allowed, you’ll have to trust that it was an Adventure to remember.
On wedding day, Tomi and Rob decided to break the traditions and spend the morning together with a little workout and breakfast at the resort buffet. One of the qualities I love about Tomi and Rob is how laid back and easy going they are. And their wedding day itinerary was just that. Laid back, full of laughs, champagne in the pool, maybe a foam party.
They felt all of the feels, cried all the tears, they danced all the dances. They took all of the shots…and they may have lost their pants. AND IT WAS THE BEST DAY EVER. Wait. Best week ever!!!
